Self-to-Self interaction is a profound state in IFS where the qualities of the core Self—such as calmness, clarity, and compassion—become the primary way we relate to our internal world. It is the foundation of internal harmony.
What are Self-to-Self Interactions?
In most cases, our internal dialogue is between different parts (e.g., a Critic talking to a Perfectionist). Self-to-Self interaction occurs when you are sufficiently unblended from your parts, allowing the Self to communicate directly with a part without the interference of other protectors.
The Impact of Self-Presence
When a part feels the presence of the Self, it begins to trust. This trust allows the part to relax its extreme role, opening the door for deep healing and unburdening. Self-to-Self interaction is not just "thinking" about a part; it is "being with" a part from a place of genuine curiosity.
Watch the video above to explore how you can cultivate this internal connection and strengthen your "Self-leadership" to navigate life with more ease and authenticity.
