What are Unattached Burdens?
In Internal Family Systems (IFS), Unattached Burdens are extreme beliefs or emotions that do not belong to any specific part of yours but have "attached" themselves to your system.
Unlike personal burdens carried by your parts, these are often absorbed from the environment, family lineage, or collective consciousness. They can feel like a dark cloud or a heavy weight that isn't connected to your own story. Watch the video above to learn how to identify and release these external energies.
Key Characteristics:
Not Part-Based
They aren't tied to a specific part's history or trauma.
External Origin
Often picked up from toxic environments or ancestral patterns.
Release Rituals
Requires specific unblending and releasing techniques to clear them.
Systemic Relief
Clearing them often brings a sudden and profound sense of lightness.
